Carter walked the talk. Clinton pulled a 'Reagan' .. and by that I mean 'as Reagan made Americans (whites) PROUD to be Americans again, aka feel better. Clinton was the 1st President to really give blacks the 'sense (or feeling) that they were 'truly part of the American social fabric'..that they too are included in this. But that's all he was good for..for when proof in the pudding came in the form of Jocelyn Elders and Lani Guinere (sic), Clinton caved faster than Congress vs Bush/FISA.

Blacks have seen empirical evidence that no matter what.. the modern day Republican Party seriously doesn't give a rat's ass about them. Therefore, any black (Rice, Powell) who blindly sides up with these shyters is nothing more than shill out for him/herself -- Powell/Rice retrospectively...bears that out. They both are exactly what blacks thought they were from the very beginning. 7 years with Bush proved them right.

McCain is no different and Blacks know when someone is speaking before them with hollow words..they've seen that act 1 million times. Blacks aren't expecting much from Obama & the Dems. BUT just by Obama being there will bring about a psychological windfall, no policy by any president could rival it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28699638.post-36250695743170881992008-07-16T10:04:00.000-07:002008-07-16T10:04:00.000-07:00A question about race just came to mind. Black America calls Colin Powell and Condi Rice Uncle Tom and "House N******" because they were tied to a republican and seen as not succeeding in an approved black manner.

Barack Obama was raised with "kansas values" by his white mother and grandparents. His upbringing and experience growing up in Kansas, Asia, and Hawaii, and then attending Harvard Law have little in common with Black America yet he will likely receive more than 90% of the black vote simply because his non-present father was black.

Until black America stops playing the victim and starts voting for policies instead of identities, I fear they are holding themselves back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
